The inspiration behind this unique design was to counteract the characteristics of the material and create a fun piece with which people could interact. Pierini has successfully transcended the graphic aspect to generate a surprise element, providing both visual and tactile stimulation.
The packaging design is as attractive as it is innovative. The body of the bottle is covered with a delicate texture of small silver mosaics, which not only counteracts the coldness of the material but also takes its lightness to the extreme. These mosaics alter the chromatic palette in the central part of the pack, creating the letter “Q”, a synthesis of the beer logo, with different shades of blue.
The true magnitude of the proposal is best seen in the dark. Although it seems paradoxical, the main attraction of the bottle is not noted at first sight. It is necessary to see it under ultraviolet light to discover the “spirits of fun and meetings” hidden on the surface of the bottle.
The challenge was to create a bi-functional design. Both designs, the one seen at normal light and the one appreciated with ultraviolet light, have to have certain synergy. The ink used for the light reaction imposed certain conditions, the most important being that no other ink can touch it. This limitation was overcome successfully thanks to the “kaleidoscope” design which has internal lines. With these, the silhouettes were created.
This innovative packaging design has been recognized with the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2012. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
